About the Role

The Clinical Engineering Service is seeking a full-time Supervisory Biomedical Engineer for the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center CBOC in North Charleston South Carolina.

What You'll Do

  • The Supervisory Biomedical Engineer (Clinical) serves as Additive Manufacturing Supervisor and is responsible for the Additive Manufacturing Program at the Ralph H Johnson VAMC.
  • Ralph H Johnson VAMC has affiliations with the Medical University of South Carolina and joint operations with nearby DoD installations.
  • Has administrative and managerial responsibilities for planning, staffing, budgeting, developing, and effectively managing the total Additive Manufacturing Program.
  • Acts as a consultant to the Chief of HTM and the Medical Center regarding Additive Manufacturing.
  • Guides the design, testing, prototyping and production specifications while ensuring adherence to alignment with legal, safety, quality and FDA standards for a Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Assists in the planning and/or accomplishes special projects; manages special projects for major office or program issues of broad impact; conceives and implements new initiatives and projects to strengthen, facilitate, and integrate programs.
  • Assists with implementation of national policies at the local level and uses knowledge required for the position to reduce broad and non-specific guidelines to practical application.
  • Independent judgment, interpretation, ingenuity, and experience are necessary to adapt, expand, simplify, or resolve conflicts between guidelines and existing conditions.

Requirements
