The FRTIB is looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to serve as a Supervisory Benefits Specialist. This Job Opportunity Announcement (JOA) may be used to fill other Supervisory Benefits Specialist, GS-0301-14 positions within the FRTIB in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as a senior expert on Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) benefits and provides guidance on policies, procedures, and customer service.
- →Leads reviews of TSP benefits policies and procedures to identify improvements and ensure services are effective and efficient.
- →Oversees stakeholder engagement and coordination between contracted service providers and partner federal agencies.
- →Provides direction and oversight to contractors who support TSP benefits programs and operations.
- →Reviews complex or unusual benefits issues and makes decisions when standard processes do not resolve the matter.

- ✓Supervisory Probationary Period.
- ✓One-year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- ✓Selective Service.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, you must certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System, or are exempt from having to do so under the Selective Service Law.
- ✓Background Suitability Investigation.
- ✓Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background investigation and the granting of a federal suitability or security clearance.
- ✓If selected, you may be offered tentative employment until the background investigation has been fully adjudicated.
- ✓Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must meet the Time-in-Grade Requirement, which is 52 weeks of federal service at the next lower grade, GS-13.
- ✓This position does not have a positive education requirement; therefore, transcripts are not required.
