The Assistant Manager reports directly to the Manager of the ADO and serves as the principle adviser on technical operations within the ADO, including Federally funded airports and Part 139 certified airports throughout the Northwest Mountain Region.
What You'll Do
- →Oversees and supervises a highly technically diverse workforce composed of civil engineers, environmental specialists, financial specialists and community planners.
- →Provides advice, guidance and oversight in the administration of various mission critical technical programs including, the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) and the Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) program.
- →The AIP approaches $75 million dollars annually, and the Passenger Facility Charge Program entails more than $266 million dollars in annual collections.
- →In addition, the AIP requires annual updates to the office of Airports Capital Improvement Plan (ACIP) and includes primary and nonprimary airports.
- →Facilitates the appropriate coordination and collaboration (both internal and external to the agency) for these programs.
- →Manages critical activities related to airport planning (i.e. airport master planning, state and/or metropolitan system planning, etc.) and implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
- →The Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Parts 77, 139 , 1 SO, 157 and 158 apply as they pertain to the development of airports.
- →Represents the FAA and ARP, and collaborates with other Lines of Businesses/Staff Offices (LOBs/SOs), as appropriate, to address corporate level initiatives and cross-organizational issues that arise.
- →Interfaces with management and staff to achieve organizational objectives and exercises delegated authority in advising Federal, state, and local officials on laws, regulations, and innovative solutions regarding airport development and operations.
- →Implements, monitors, and evaluates ADO program goals.
- →Coordinates all program/project activities with the ADO Manager.
- →Ensures airport development projects provide the protection and enhancement of the environment, and are compliant with the terms of agreement established as a condition of receiving federal assistance.
- →Ensures the uniform application of FAA airport planning, programming, design, construction and land acquisition standards and policy in federally-assisted airport development projects.
- →Provides advisory services to the public on airport safety, planning, design, construction, environmental and maintenance matters.
