What You'll Do
- →General Description of Assigned Duties: The Supervisory Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) in overseeing operations of a nursing unit/patient care area.
- →Fosters team development, ensures compliance with standards of clinical practice, and serves as a key liaison between staff and leadership.
- →This role combines clinical competence with leadership responsibilities and is often considered part of the succession plan for future NM positions, providing opportunities to perform management skills and prepare for higher-level leadership.
- →Models' clinical competence and is responsible and accountable for the nursing process when providing or overseeing direct patient care.
- →Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components.
- →Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- →Demonstrates sound decision-making and judgment and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
- →Self-directed and influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and leading innovative process improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
