Serves as a Front Line Manager (Operations Supervisor).
What You'll Do
- →Directs the work of subordinate employees at the organizational unit level providing first-line supervision to a team of FSS Air Traffic Control Specialists (ATCS).
- →Work usually includes routine project/program tasks based on established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- →Managerial duties affect employees in one organizational unit, and include planning, assigning, setting priorities, tasks, and schedules; monitoring and evaluating performance; coaching and developing employee capabilities; and taking or recommending corrective/disciplinary action, as appropriate.
- →Responsible for planning and directing operations within delegated areas of responsibility, some of which may be remotely located and require travel.
- →Acts as the approving authority for leave; gives direction and instruction to employees on both technical and administrative matters.
- →Provides training, coaching and guidance to subordinates and facilitates team building.
- →Continuously reviews work processes to assure results that meet the agencies mission and the customer¿s needs.
- →Serves as a member of the management team to ensure organizational performances meets strategic goals.
- →When assigned, serves as Watch Supervisor, and assumes overall management and supervision of the operations area.
- →Performs staff support functions as assigned.
- →Uses assigned budget, staff, and other resources to accomplish project/program objectives.
- →Manages budget and requests additional resources as needed.
- →Contributes to budget planning process and projects short-term future needs.
- →Applies a comprehensive knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed, a detailed knowledge of budget, human resources, and other administrative policies and procedures, and a detailed understanding of the objectives of the organizational unit.
