This office furnishes producers, buyers, and other interested members of the trade, as well as the consuming public, with a wide range of timely, accurate, and impartial information on supply, demand, movement, distribution, prices and price trends, and other related economic factors on which market decisions can be based, thereby, facilitating the orderly production, distribution, and consumption of livestock, swine, lamb, sheep, poultry, eggs, hay, meat, grain, and their related products.
What You'll Do
- →The duties may include, but are not limited to: Recommends policies, procedures, and methods governing the administration of market news reporting functions on livestock, poultry, meat and grain for the assigned designated area.
- →Proposed new or revised national policies are, in turn, reviewed by the incumbent and the Chief for practicability and adaptability to field operations for the assigned designated area.
- →Reviews and evaluates program operations to determine their effectiveness or deficiencies and recommends efficient and effective methods of performance to the Chief to discuss desirable changes in programs or their operations.
- →Ensures uniform interpretation and application of grade standards and terminology between offices to ensure uniformity on a national basis as it relates to market news reporting.
- →Coordinates and directs the collection of information from the trade pertaining to supply, demand, prices, trends, and other market information pertaining to livestock and meat through voluntary authority of the AMA and LMR within assigned area.
- →Reviews various phases of the reporting activities and settles complex disputes and problems that may arise in reporting operations.
