About the Role
This permanent position serves as the Supervisory Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) working in the Primary Care and the Emergency Department at Whiteriver Service Unit in Whiteriver, Arizona. The Incumbent will supervise Whiteriver Service Unit nurse practitioners and perform clinical nursing service to a patient population. The position reports to Clinical Director. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

- →Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Nurse Practitioner Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Direct supervision of all Nurse Practitioners providing outpatient primary care in the Primary Care Medical Home and/or urgent care in the Emergency Department.
- →Collaboration with senior leadership in recruiting and hiring using approved agency processes.
- →Assuring services meet all accreditation requirements, and supporting area and national agency nurse practitioner work force leadership activities.
- →The incumbent assumes responsibility for providing comprehensive health maintenance and therapeutic medical care for patients, including health status evaluation and education, diagnostic assessment, preventative care, treatment, care coordination, and follow-up.
- →Supports Primary Care Medical Home concept, including appropriate delegation to allied personnel and other activities in support of clinical efficiency.
- →Collects data from multiple sources using assessment techniques that are appropriate to the patient's age, developmental stage, language, culture, and prior diagnoses and recognizes special risks, including social and developmental concerns.
