About the Role
The position is located at the Birmingham VA Medical Center under Dental Services. The purpose of the position is to direct and perform all administrative functions that include administration, human resources management, budget and finance, management and program analysis, office support services, document control, logistics, and a variety of related administrative matters in support of a medical facility
What You'll Do
- →The Administrative Officer at this level (GS-11) has supervisory responsibility of all office staff and has authority to make changes to the administrative programs to support Dental Services.
- →Major duties and responsibilities include: Oversees and facilitates the administrative management for Dental Services.
- →Directs the personnel management program for the organization.
- →Performs the full range of personnel management.
- →Provides for the budgeting and financial management for the organization.
- →Manages procurement and contracting for the organization.
- →Assists in the overall administrative management for the organization.
- →Assists in determining overall operational plans and procedures.
- →Reviews, analyzes and interprets incoming requests.
- →Recommends appropriate action or suggests appropriate alternatives based on knowledge of internal operations.
- →Orientates new staff members.
- →Informs management of status of ongoing personnel actions.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
- →Work Schedule: Full-Time; Monday-Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Telework: Not Available.
