About the Role
Serves as the Administrative Officer/Performance Improvement Analyst for the Mental Health Integrated Community Care (MHICC) Line at the Beckley VA Medical Center. This includes the responsibility of performing research and analysis and directs and coordinates the administrative, operational, and planning activities within the service.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties include but are not limited to: Exercises judgement and decision making to provide oversight and direction in managing operational management of the service line.
- →Must be able to function with limited supervision in making decisions about administrative and operations issues, especially relating to involvement in patient care issues, such as crisis intervention, triage, and coordination of clinical resources.
- →Provides advice regarding composition of correspondence and furnishes information regarding Medical Center procedures, directives, and policies to services/programs that function under the supervision of MHICC as requested.
- →Reviews outgoing correspondence under the supervision of the Chief, MHICC for determination of accuracy of information, proper composition, proper format, and whether such correspondence conforms to current VA policies, instructions and regulations, as well as the viewpoint of the Chief, MHICC.
- →Administer the internal review, quality, and productivity initiatives for the organization.
- →Establishes unique and complex quality and productivity programs.
- →Ensures quality assurance issues pertaining to the service are documented and appropriate follow-up action occurs regarding any problem or recommendation found or made as a result of the services' quality assurance activities.
- →Within Mental Health, develops the need for and maintains an awareness of available resources, and makes recommendations to the Chief of MHICC regarding needs, distribution or redistribution of these resources.
- →Plans a system of internal control which assures the fiscal management of the Medical Center will be maintained on a sound basis in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices.
- →Manages procurement and contracting for MHICC.
- →Discusses, investigates and responds to employee grievances and dissatisfactions in order to resolve conflicts and address concerns.
- →Incumbent represents management at labor management meetings, provides information, and resolves conflicts and /or problems that may arise and assures management officials are familiar with the negotiated agreement.
- →Discusses, investigates and responds to Veteran grievances and dissatisfactions in order to resolve conflicts and address concerns.
- →Oversite of duties for the positions will involve coverage, training and oversight to ensure work is completed correctly and in a timely manner as well as assisting with conducting performance evaluations and making recommendation for performance awards.
