About the Role
Incumbent serves as Supervisory Operating Accountant (SOA) and assistant to the Accounting Officer in Fiscal Service at this Medical Center, The Medical Center is comprised of General Medicine, Intermediate, Neurology, General Surgery, Operating Room, Intensive Care-Medical, Surgical and Cardiac, Psychiatric, and Substance Abuse Treatment. The SOA ensures that the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team.
What You'll Do
- →Duties Include but not limited to: Maintain and adjust the double entry commercial type accounting system.
- →Conduct the eight phases of an integrated accounting system required as follows: general ledger accounting, capital asset accounting, inter-office accounting, revolving fund accounting, budgetary accounting, cost accounting, deposit fund accounting and trust fund accounting.
- →Monitor and report the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work.
- →Present ideas to management, both orally and in written communications, while maintaining cooperation with medical center personnel.
- →Maintain program and administrative reference materials, project files and relevant background documentation.
- →Supervise the daily activities within the Accounting Section providing advice and supervision.
- →Resolve and correct complex and unique accounting problems.
- →Trains or arranges for the training of members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks and projects while providing specific administrative or technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual and team tasks.
- →Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 7:30am - 4:00pm Telework: This position may be authorized for ADHOC telework.
