What You'll Do
- →Coordinates, and implements policy and procedural improvements, as warranted, to correct identified operational deficiencies.
- →Coordinates the timely preparation, reconciliation, and distribution of accounting reports.
- →Provides professional direction to subordinates within the organizational unit.
- →Responsible for implementing procedures and for providing guidance and technical accounting assistance to subordinates.
- →Reviews and analyzes new or revised accounting policies and procedures which affect program operations ensuring that sound accounting principles are applied and that regulatory and customer issues are properly addressed.
- →Hears and resolves employee complaints and takes required minor disciplinary actions, referring more serious complaints to a higher level manager.
- →Enforces safety and health rules, corrects unsafe or unhealthy conditions, investigates mishaps and takes other actions necessary to ensure the safety and health of employees.
- →Establishes continuous interactive communication and liaison with all communities (DFAS and non-DFAS) generating accounting data, supporting accounting operations, and/or receiving accounting products and services.

- ✓This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Level 2 Certification under the DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification Program as a condition of employment.
- ✓If you are selected, you will have to obtain this certification within two (2) years of your entry on duty in the position unless you are already in a position that requires a Level 2 Certification in which case you must complete the certification within the original 2-year period.
- ✓Failure to become certified within the required time-frame may be grounds for removal from the position and/or from Federal service.
