The incumbent is a Senior Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) whose duties and responsibilities relate to the case management of Veterans who are demonstrating suicide behaviors. Must be skillful in assessing and treating the complicated psychosocial problems of at-risk Veterans as they transition through care. Provides these services at an advanced practice level to eligible Veterans to meet biological, psychological, social, and environmental needs.
What You'll Do
- →**OPEN TO CURRENT VA FEDERAL EMPLOYEES ONLY** Clinical Responsibilities: (20%) o National Category I High Risk for Suicide Flagging Program: Oversees the National Category I High Risk for Suicide Flagging program within the Suicide Prevention Program.
- →Is the primary facility POC for National Category I High Risk for Suicide Flagging program.
- →Provides direct patient care as well as coordinate case management and treatment for Veterans assigned high risk flags (HRF) within the Suicide Prevention Team and providers associated with those Veterans' care.
- →They oversee the daily operation of the program, develop policies and procedures for program operation, and prepare reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use.
- →The program coordinator provides analysis and evaluation of clinical program data and computerized programs to identify system-wide trends and needs to enhance the quality of service. o National Veterans Crisis Line: Oversees the day-to-day processing of crisis line referrals from the National Veterans Crisis Line to the Dublin VA within 24 business hours.
- →This encompasses tracking and trending data to develop, implement and oversee policies and procedures to reduce the incident of suicide in the VHA.
- →The incumbent is responsible for providing support and post-intervention efforts to Veteran's next of kin survivors of suicide loss and completion of behavioral autopsies.
- →Administrative Functions (70%) i.
- →Is responsible for supporting the mission, policies, and procedures of VA, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), the appropriate Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN), and the facility. ii.
- →Participates on committees, work groups, and task forces at the facility, VISN, and/or VA Central Office levels. iii.
- →Keeps supervisor apprised of problems and recommended solutions to problems encountered in the incumbent's area of responsibility. iv.
- →Responsible for furthering own professional growth through education, appropriate to area of assignment, and providing coverage during Suicide Prevention Coordinators absences. v.
- →Maintains a level of productivity and quality consistent with facility and clinical mental health standards and the complexity of the assignment. vi.
- →Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, appropriate facility meetings, and clinical mental health meetings.
