About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Tucson Field Office, Border Security Division, located in Tucson, Arizona.

What You'll Do

  • In this position you will serve as a Strategic Communication Technician within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S.
  • Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations.The principal purpose of this position is to support the Office of Field Operations' (OFO) strategic communication efforts by providing comprehensive visual information services and developing communication strategies, materials, and programs that promote organizational change and achieve agency goals.
  • This position starts at a salary of $41,508.00 (GS-05, Step 1) to $53,961.00 (GS-05, Step 10) with promotion potential to $66,843.00 (GS-7 Step 10).
  • Major duties include: Providing Visual Information services and content in support of OFO's strategic communication efforts.
  • Performing entry-level tasks to assist in the development and implementation of basic visual information products that convey intended messages and responses to various internal and external audiences.
  • Supporting the creation of basic visual communication products such as photography, video production, graphics, and other visual assets and follows guidance from the supervisor and staff to implement processes related to their creation.
  • Assisting in coordinating with the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Printing, Graphics, and Distribution Branch on printing and graphics policy, acquiring necessary services, and obtaining approvals from relevant boards for external publications or branded merchandise.

Requirements
