About the Role

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a STATE COMMAND CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER ADVISOR, Position Description Number D2687000 and is part of the PA Command Admin Office, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. *If selected member is a current CW4, accessioning will not occur until promotion to CW5

What You'll Do

  • As the State Command Chief Warrant Officer Advisor, GS-0301-13, you will report to The Adjutant General for a variety of matters pertaining to policies, programs, and actions impacting the Warrant Officer Corps.
  • Plan, organize, perform technical analysis as required, and as assigned.
  • Manage Command Chief Warrant Officer functions in support of programs essential to state Army National Guard daily operations, training, and readiness missions.
  • Perform duties necessary for efficient operations, achievement and maintenance of readiness of the PAARNG, with particular emphasis on Warrant Officer professional development, assignments, morale, welfare, discipline, performance, training, awards and recognition, recruiting, and equal opportunity.
  • Formulate and execute the human resource policies and procedures which direct how Warrant Officers of the ARNG are appointed, developed, assigned, evaluated, trained, promoted and separated.
  • Review regulations and directives from Department of Army (DA), NGB and other higher headquarters determining local impact and preparing local implementing directives.
  • Ensure that Warrant Officer replacements are available as needed in the units.
  • Plan for and develop a recruiting program to maintain strength and depth of Warrant Officer personnel in the ARNG and the State.
  • Serves as the principle coach, advisor, counselor and mentor for all Warrant Officers.
  • Develop and implement a sustaining sponsorship and mentorship program for Warrant Officer candidates and junior Warrant Officers, which is exportable to all subordinate commands.
  • Accompany The Adjutant General and other Senior ARNG Staff members, as appropriate and as directed, on visits to organizations, units, facilities and activities providing awareness of the implications or ramifications of transactions and activities that affect PAARNG Warrant Officers.
  • Participate in various ceremonies, formal occasions, etc., as representative of the Pennsylvania's Warrant Officer Corps.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
