About the Role
The Medicine Service Mission is to lead satisfied staff dedicated to providing high quality patient centered care here at South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS), a great tertiary training and research Veteran's Hospital. This Hematology Physician position supports this mission through administrative dependability, direct patient care, and support of their Section's educational and research activities.
What You'll Do

- →Responsibilities include participating in leadership activities such as staff meetings, committees, peer review, and serving as acting Section Chief when needed.
- →The physician ensures compliance with training, credentialing, FPPE/OPPE, clinical pertinence reviews, employee health requirements, and proper time/leave management.
- →Duties also include effective clinical operations oversight, including documentation, consult and encounter management, patient access, performance measures, and quality and safety initiatives aligned with Medical Home and patient-centered care models.
- →The role involves supervising and teaching medical trainees, and, when applicable, conducting research and overseeing research staff.
- →Additionally, the physician provides consult and inpatient coverage during off-tour hours as required.
- →Work Schedule: ???????Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
