What You'll Do
- →Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S.
- →Citizenship and Immigration Services, within Service Center Operations Directorate and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
- →The responsibilities described are for the full performance level.
- →At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
- →Supports the service center Director, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff on all administrative matters associated with programs and operations owned or managed by the Director, Deputy Director and Chief of Staff.
- →Develops and advises on local administrative requirements or inquiries for the office, and actively participates in developing and implementing local administrative policies, guidelines and processes.
- →Manages all calendaring of events, preparation of materials including agendas, correspondence and memorandums, facilitates the center’s visiting officials and arranges all associated logistics.
- →Arranges for the preparation of briefing materials, talking points, LER materials and executive summaries.
- →Works closely with staff to track projects and to ensure implementation dates are met.
- →Ensures that correspondence is consistent with policies and position on complex matters.
- →Facilitates timely and complete responses to inquiries from high level sources or significant interest groups.
Requirements
- ✓Conditions of Employment: You must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or U.S.
- ✓Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S.
- ✓Citizenship and Immigration Services.
- ✓This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S.
- ✓Federal or Military employee serving overseas.
- ✓Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year.
- ✓EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTION: There is educational substitution at the GS-11 grade level.
- ✓COMBINING QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION (at the GS-11 level/s only): If you do not qualify based on experience or education alone, you may be able to qualify based on a combination of your experience and education.
