About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized Student loan repayment may be authorized Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service
What You'll Do
- →Independently provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders.
- →Treat patients with mild to severe and complex impairments of communication resulting from multiple and sometimes unclear etiologies.
- →Perform evaluation, diagnosis and treatment to patients with various levels of neurological and speech disorders resulting from traumatic brain injury, stroke, or other neurologic etiologies.
- →Provide counseling and education to patients and/or their family, communicating the medical condition and explaining treatment goals and plan of execution.
- →Perform fitness for duty evaluations for active-duty member’s status post traumatic brain injury, with dysfluency or with other speech, language or voice disorders with may adversely affect job performance.
