About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The incumbent is a professional social worker assigned to the Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation and Treatment Program (DRRTP).
  • The incumbent must use a high level of skill in assessing and treating the complicated psychosocial problems of Veterans as they transition from the DRRTP to appropriate discharge arrangements.
  • Care management responsibilities include coordination, and provision of social work and supportive services to Veterans and/or their families.
  • The DRRTP Social Worker at the Bath VA Medical Center independently performs case finding functions and outreach, identifies and screens patients for psychosocial needs.
  • Incumbent must possess the knowledge and ability to independently implement treatment modalities and provide counseling or psychotherapy for individuals, families and groups at the appropriate level of licensure and within current scope of practice.
  • Establishes and maintains effective therapeutic relationships with Veterans and their families.
  • Incumbent works independently with patients and families experiencing a variety of psychiatric, medical and social problems utilizing individual, group and family counseling and therapy skills.
  • Must actively participate as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and actively participate through collaboration with Veterans and family as well as interdisciplinary treatment team members in the development and implementation of a resident centered treatment plan.
