About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Social Worker serves as a Program Coordinator within the General Mental Health program located at the VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) Brockton Campus, a highly complex Level 1A facility.
- →The General Mental Health, (GMH) program encompasses outpatient mental health (MH) clinics of considerable scope and complexity.
- →GMH clinics deliver a broad array of both general and specialized professional service s that are important components of Mental Health Service at VABHS and significantly impact the health and well-being of Veterans.
- →This GS-13 Social Work (SW) Program Coordinator is in a leadership position, works independently, and must possess broad clinical, administrative and supervisory knowledge, skills and abilities.
- →The SW Program Coordinator leads a large multidisciplinary team of clinical providers at a designated VABHS site in the provision of high quality, veteran-centered, evidence-based mental health care with the goal of reducing the patient's symptoms and improving the patient's functioning and quality of life.
- →The SW Program Coordinator oversees the functioning and productivity of multi-disciplinary staff members assigned to the clinic (e.g., psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, registered nurses).
- →The SW Program Coordinator may serve as the supervisor for all or a designated portion of clinic staff members, with responsibility for such duties as establishing workload expectations, completing performance appraisals, and approving/disapproving leave.
- →The SW Program Coordinator will also oversee the GMH-related responsibilities of affiliated, part-time direct care providers in the clinic whose primary supervisors are assigned to other VABHS programs.
- →The GMH clinics also serve as major interdisciplinary clinical training rotations for psychiatry residents, psychiatry nurse practitioner residents, psychology pre-doctoral clinical interns, psychology post-doctoral clinical fellows, and/or social work interns each academic year.
- →The Social Worker plays a critical management/coordination role in training activities.
- →The SW Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a designated GMH clinic.
- →The SW Program Coordinator develops program goals and objectives in conjunction with the Outpatient MH Director or designee.
- →The SW Program Coordinator establishes, implements, and ensures adherence to policies and procedures, related to all phases of direct patient care and support activities in coordination with various clinical, allied health and administrative services.
- →The SW Program Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and evaluation of outcomes.
