About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

What You'll Do

  • Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The incumbent serves as the HUD-VASH Housing Coordinator for the HUD-VASH program at James H.
  • Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center (JHQVAMC).
  • The incumbent assumes the responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of case management, referrals, discharge planning, Homeless Operations Management and Evaluation System (HOMES) monthly compliance review, Homeless GSA fleet rotation, mentoring and training staff.
  • Duties include but are not limited to: Serves as the subject matter expert on the local housing market and collaborates with stakeholders within the JHQVAMC and community partner networks, including public housing authorities (PHA), community and government agency executive leadership, and corporation leadership to develop affordable housing options in the Mountain Home catchment area.
  • Provides housing services to Veterans receiving services in the HUD-VASH program.
  • Provides outreach, crisis intervention, and case management services to homeless and precariously housed Veterans at an advanced practice level.
  • Provides clinical intervention through groups, individual/family crisis services, and case management to eligible Veterans and their family members to meet biological, psychological, social, and housing needs.
  • Coordinates HUD-VASH housing searches, which may include driving Veterans to available housing units for viewings and walk-through inspections for leasing.
  • Assists HUD-VASH Veterans in seeking and applying for community resources to meet rental and utility deposits and obtain basic household goods or furnishings.
  • Assists HUD-VASH Veterans in developing and securing necessary services to move into housing.
  • May assist with coordinating staffing, work assignments, and treatment services provided by HUD-VASH clinicians.
  • Provides leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs.
  • Incorporates complex multiple causation in differential diagnoses and treatments.
  • Independently conducts interviews and assessments for the purpose of program enrollment and to aid in the development of treatment plans.

  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
