About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Program Coordinator directs the administrative and clinical aspects of the Suicide Prevention Program across Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS).
- →Duties may include but not limited to: Interpret and write policies, procedures and program guidelines in the development, planning, operations, and continuous performance improvement of the program.
- →Collaborate with other departments to manage the use of data related to these programs regarding day-to-day functioning, effectiveness, and program evaluation.
- →Responsible for the clinical and administrative operation of the program, as well as education and training of staff, in conjunction with other VA professionals.
- →Form a cohesive team of staff from a variety of disciplines and supervisory chains of authority to provide an effective, recovery-oriented treatment program.
- →Responsible for the management of computer-based flagging systems for identifying high risk patients.
- →Responsible for all VISN and Central Office requests for information about suicide training or any data about suicide behavior incidents.
- →Interface with CAVHCS Police, Officer of the Inspector General and Coordinated Care Programs to manage patients with suicide behavior.
- →Provide expert consultation with treatment providers regarding management of suicidal patients.
- →Responsible for the education, training, and implementation of local and national policies pertaining to suicide behavior.
- →Has contacts on a regular and recurring basis with individuals representing widely divergent backgrounds, interests, and points of view.
- →Serves on Medical Center or healthcare system, VISN, and/or National VA committees or task forces.
- →Represent the Medical Center at professional community group/events and committees, in conferences/meetings with higher ranking managers, supervisors, and staff from other disciplines or work units, and/or with representatives of local public interest groups, congressional district offices and employees of State and local governments.
- →Prepare Issue Briefs and responses to Congressional inquiries as needed.
