About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

What You'll Do

  • The Primary Care Mental Health Integration (PCMHI) Program Coordinator provides independent clinical administration of the Primary Care Mental Health program and supervision of interdisciplinary staff who work in the Program which includes Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Psychologists, and Social Workers.
  • Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Individuals assigned as GS-13 social workers are licensed at the advanced practice level and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
  • Duties include, but are not limited to: Provides direct line supervision of an interdisciplinary team of PCMHI staff, including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Psychologists, and Social Workers.
  • Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
  • Establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system.
  • Evaluates work performance of subordinates.
  • Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
  • Adjusts staffing levels or work procedures within the program to accommodate resource allocation decisions made at higher echelons.
  • Coordinates interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, budget, treatment services provided, and admission criteria for the program.
  • Responsible for the program's resource and fiscal management, developing the annual budget as needed, operating within that budget, and accounting for appropriated funds.
  • Initiates and conducts program evaluations and complete designated clinical practice reviews and reports including productivity and bookability.
  • Oversees program operations and evaluations, identifying areas for improvement, gathering relevant data, assessing the data, developing and implementing ideas for improvement, and evaluating efficacy of improvement efforts.
  • Coordinates PCMHI services offered to Veterans and their families to include functional assessments, medication management, crisis intervention, education; individual and group treatment, interventions specific to chronic health conditions, and care management.
