About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • The Incumbent serves as Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program Coordinator (IPVAPC) whose primary responsibilities are to provide clinical and administrative support of VHA Directive 1198.
  • These responsibilities include program development, assessment, monitoring, and provision of direct evidence-based interventions for Veterans who experience and/or use intimate partner violence and/or sexual assault.
  • Other duties include providing VA staff and community training, education, and outreach; resource development; continuous quality improvement activities; and evaluation/consultation.
  • The incumbent must have strong verbal and writing skills and ability to contribute to the development of strategic planning for local action plans.
  • Major Duties and Responsibilities: The IPVAPC will develop, execute, monitor, and report on the measures related to VHA Directive 1198.
  • The IPVAPC ensures compliance and collaboration with local facility and the directive and may also be responsible for VA Central Office Megabus Pilot Project initiatives as applicable.
  • The incumbent oversees facility needs and program assessments to assist in the development of action plans related to fulfilling the requirements of VHA Directive 1198 and the Megabus pilot program as applicable.
  • The IPVAPC will develop and administer information and analytical systems to evaluate and enhance the quality of service provided to Veterans, families, Caregivers and VA employees impacted by intimate partner violence or sexual violence.
  • The IPVAPC responsibilities further include development and implementation of information systems to track service activities including visits, referrals, demographics, equipment utilization and Veteran satisfaction.
  • The IPVAPC also develops, implements, and evaluates clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services.
  • The incumbent participates in direct Veteran, family, Caregiver, and VA employee contacts to identify and assess risk, safety, supports and the development and application of directed clinical treatment interventions.
  • If appropriate, the incumbent provides referrals or consults for Veterans or their intimate partners to other VA programs including but not limited to Military Sexual Trauma, Caregiver Support Program, Family and Couples' Programs, Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, and inpatient services including psychiatric treatment, Substance Use Treatment, and Community Residential Care Programs.
