About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but not limited to: Develops and implements the Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program specific to his/her area of assignment and ensures compliance and collaboration with local facility and the VA Central Office Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Program initiatives.
- →Administers information and analytical systems to evaluate and enhance the quality of service provided to Veterans, families, Caregivers and VA employees impacted by intimate partner violence.
- →Develops and implements information systems to track service activities including visits, referrals, demographics, equipment utilization and Veteran satisfaction.
- →Develops implements and evaluates clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services.
- →Participates in direct Veteran, family, Caregiver, and VA employee contacts to identify and assess risk, safety, supports and the development and application of directed clinical treatment interventions.
- →Advises and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams throughout the medical center on intimate partner violence (IPV) issues.
- →Creates educational tools, develops programs, and implements training focused on specific IPV needs/issues.
- →Provides education and in-service training to VAMC employees, Veterans, families, and Caregivers.
- →Develops and facilitates support groups (face-to-face or VANTS telephone line) and educational programs.
- →Conducts Veteran, family, Caregiver and VA employee interventions to facilitate the identification of domestic violence/intimate partner violence, psychiatric illness, emotional distress, and social needs as treatment issues.
- →Provides referrals to VA medical and mental health treatment and to other VA services including VA benefits, as well as community-based social services and other non-VA entitlement programs.
- →Serves as the major consultant for information on negotiating the complex processes Veterans, their families, caregivers, and VA employees encounter when interacting with government and community agencies.
- →Completes suicide risk screens C-SSRS, CSRE, and Safety Plans, completing and documenting assessments within the timelines and guidelines outlined in local policy and guidelines (i.e., VANTHCS Suicide Prevention Standard of Work) as required.
- →Ensures that services provided are compliant with all regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the population served and monitors medical center performance related to population served.
