About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

- →VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties are but not limited to: GS-09 Social Worker (Developmental): A developmental-level clinician who performs core social work functions with close supervisory guidance.
- →Key functions include: Screening & Assessment: Conducts psychosocial assessments, gathers input from team and family, identifies needs, strengths, limitations, supports, and care coordination options.
- →Treatment & Care Planning: Develops service plans with achievable goals and updates plans based on ongoing assessments.
- →Referral & Resource Coordination: Uses VA/community resources to meet needs, reassesses eligibility, educates Veterans/families on available services, and develops/maintains resource files.
- →Advocacy: Supports Veterans and families in learning and practicing self-advocacy.
- →Crisis Intervention: Screens for crisis needs; completes C-SSRS; conducts CSRE with supervisor involvement when indicated.
- →Patient Education: Provides education on benefits, services, housing, and Advance Directives; assists with completion when requested.
- →Coordination of Services: Provides information about institutional/non-institutional services; receives supervisory monitoring for treatment planning.
- →Administrative Duties: Completes documentation, attends meetings, maintains working relationships, and keeps supervisors informed.
- →Training & Other Duties: Maintains licensure, meets documentation standards (Joint Commission/CARF), completes clinical reminders, and performs assigned tasks as directed.
- →GS-11 Social Worker (Full Performance) A full-performance, independent clinician who carries out all core social work functions with greater autonomy, responsibility, and additional programmatic roles.
- →Key functions include: Screening & Assessment: Independently completes psychosocial assessments, incorporating interdisciplinary/family input to develop collaborative service plans.
- →Treatment & Care Planning: Independently develops and updates service plans; addresses psychosocial problems; sets clinical goals with the Veteran.
- →Referral & Resource Coordination: Maintains/updates complex resource networks; independently facilitates referrals; coordinates VA and community services; reviews provider notes to determine appropriateness of referrals; adheres to Veteran or family preferences within legal limits.
