About the Role

This position is located in the Division of Finance, Financial Operations, Travel Policy and Audit Sections of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, DC and leads a variety of travel, audit, and relocation functions, to include: advising employees and managers on the Corporation's travel, audit, and relocation programs, policies, and procedures; developing travel, audit, and relocation procedures; and providing management information through reporting.

What You'll Do

  • Provides expert guidance to FDIC employees and management through on-the-spot counseling regarding the interpretation and application of the General Travel Regulations.
  • Serves as lead author on proposed revisions to the General Travel Regulations and directives/circulars/bulletins relative to travel, audit, and relocation policies and procedures.
  • Conducts feasibility tests and special studies in determining the adequacy of current rates applicable to travel, audit, and relocation.
  • Reviews travel and relocation studies to determine the actual effectiveness of existing policies.
  • Develops position papers and other documents for top management relative to travel, audit, and relocation issues or programs.
  • Attends meetings with senior staff and advises on status of projects, recommendations on changes in travel, audit, and relocation policies, regulation, or directives.
  • Coordinates responses to OIG/GAO audits of travel policy and audit functions.
  • Serves as an FDIC representative in meetings and conferences with employees of other Federal agencies, private industry, and various travel, audit, and relocation services companies to keep abreast of industry trends.

Requirements

  • Completion Of Financial Disclosure May Be Required.
  • Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) Required.
  • There is no substitution of education for the experience for this position.
