About the Position: This developmental position will be filled at the GS-11 level. At the full performance level, this position will serve as the Personnel Security Specialist and primary Security Manager responsible for developing and recommending command personnel security policy, directives, and implementing guidance. This is a Planned Management Action open to current employees of the Operations, Plans, and Security Office due to organizational workload changes and evolving mission.
What You'll Do
- →Plan and implement the Personnel Security Program and ensure compliance with regulations, directives, and guidance from higher headquarters.
- →Represent the Europe District Security Office at meetings and conferences pertaining to Personnel Security.
- →Advise security personnel and human resources of proper courses of action to resolve complex security issues.
- →Ensure all Europe District personnel are properly cleared and have the required background investigations to perform their assigned duties.
- →Monitor security databases for requests for action, updates, and adjudication decisions.
- →Determine the impact of adverse information, exercise discretion to evaluate the potential effect upon security, and recommend appropriate action.
- →Present relevant security program training for personnel and leaders throughout the Europe District.
- →Manage the foreign travel reporting and briefing program.
- →Produce ad hoc training and awareness materials as needed.
- →Point of contact for Visitor Access Requests and deployment support.
- →Also serve as the designated Special Security Representative (SSR), managing the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAPs) security programs.
