About the Role
The primary purpose of the position is to perform laboring duties that require moderately heavy physical effort requiring the use of common hand tools and power equipment. The incumbent must on a regular and recurring basis operate light duty motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds (such as pick-up trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, etc...) to transport personnel, material, or equipment to work sites over Federal, state, and county roads and city streets in all traffic conditions.
What You'll Do
- →Operate motor vehicles (e.g., 2-4WD pickups, flatbeds, stake-beds) to transport personnel, tools, and materials to work sites; comply with traffic laws and agency policies.
- →Performs janitorial duties for custodial and grounds Operate heavy power equipment such as lawn mowers, chain says, brush cutters, brush chippers, and all types of hand and light power tools to maintain buildings, grounds, roads, etc.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males Direct Deposit Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- ✓Driver's License: You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required.
- ✓You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record.
- ✓You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
- ✓Uniform: You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
- ✓A uniform allowance will be provided.
- ✓Work Schedule: You may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
- ✓There is no substitution of education for experience for Wage Grade (WG) positions.
