About the Position: This position assists the Chief of the Safety Office in executing Europe District's safety and occupational health program. Incumbent serves as a technical expert for military construction safety on a variety of construction projects located at military facilities.
What You'll Do
- →Assist in managing a comprehensive safety and occupational health program to eliminate or control risk of injury to personnel assigned to all phases of U.S.
- →Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) activities in the overseas environment.
- →Advise design and construction engineers in the application of safety standards.
- →Review construction plans and specifications to ensure inclusion of safety features.
- →Survey construction sites to check for safety compliance.
- →Interpret and implement published guidance from the Occupational Health Service Administration (OSHA), Department of Army, USACE, and the European Union for construction projects.
- →Identify environmental health hazards and establish control measures.
- →Recommend proper safety and occupational health measures to minimize the possibility of injury to personnel or damage to property.
- →Provide safety expertise; prepare written procedures for implementation of safety and occupational health prevention guidelines.
- →Develop and provide technical safety training to supervisors and employees.
