This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in Safety Internal Operations (NFB) organization of the Safety Office (NF), Chief Administrative Office (N). A successful candidate in the Safety and Occupational Health Specialist (Safety Procurement) position will perform procurement safety program leadership and provide support services for a broad range of high hazard functions in the construction, operations and maintenance of a high voltage electrical transmission system.
What You'll Do
- →As a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist (Safety Procurement), you will: Lead the Safety Procurement Program: Develop and manage safety procurement processes to ensure all purchased goods, equipment, and contracted services comply with federal, industry, and organizational safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, NFPA).
- →Evaluate Suppliers and Ensure Compliance: Audit vendors, establish prequalification criteria, assess safety performance, and serve as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) to monitor contractor performance and safety compliance.
- →Analyze Safety Data and Trends: Collect and evaluate occupational health and safety performance data, track incident trends involving procured items, and present findings to leadership to address systemic risks.
- →Develop and Deliver Training: Create and present safety training materials for internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring staff and vendors understand safety protocols, policies, and program expectations.
- →Manage Equipment and Safety Communication Tools: Oversee safety assets (such as simulators and training devices), process equipment/PPE requests, handle product recalls, and support digital safety communication tools across internal and external platforms.
- →Provide Operational and Inspection Support: Assist with facility and field inspections, serve as a operational backup for safety communications and human/organizational performance managers, and support the update of safety manuals and budgets.
