About the Role

About the Position: Principal advisor and program manager for US Forces Korea's ammunition, explosives, and range safety programs. Develops and coordinates these comprehensive programs across all service components, ensuring full compliance with all requirements. What You'll Do

  • Manages the USFK's ammunition, explosives, and range safety program, developing safety policies for service component operations, deployments, and mobilizations.
  • Works with service component personnel to develop comprehensive ammunition, explosives, and range safety programs consistent with Department of War (DoW) standards.
  • Evaluates the program to ensure compliance with Department of War (DoW) requirements.
  • Provides expert advice on accident prevention and analyzes the safety and occupational health programs related to the overall ammunition, explosives, and range safety programs.
  • Develops safety criteria to eliminate or control serious hazards for a wide variety of high-risk factors to meet mission and readiness requirements across all command activities.
  • Represents USFK at meetings with service components, federal agencies, and national committees regarding ammunition, explosives, and range safety.
  • Recommends new policies for resolving hazardous conditions in diverse military operations, while also conducting program evaluations to ensure compliance with established regulations and standards.
  • Provides authoritative counsel to directorates and all service components on high-risk operations.
  • Coordinate with key military, federal, and foreign government officials to develop explosives and range safety standards and work with foreign government counterparts to identify safe ports for ammunition.
