The primary purpose of this position is to manage the AFSC-level ground, safety and occupational health program for a multi-mission Center involving ground aviation, industrial safety and occupational activities. Advise and direct policy and procedures for Hill, Robins, and Tinker AFB and advising AFSC personnel at Geographically Separated Units (GSU) on safety issues.
What You'll Do
- →Plans, reviews and tracks Center-level Safety projects/processes and suspenses to ensure accurate and timely information is provided to Center-level command staff and higher headquarters organizations regarding initiatives in safety improvement plans and programs.
- →Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates activities necessary to the overall management of a diverse AFSC ground safety program affecting a complex multi-mission Center.
- →Reviews Class B, C, and D mishap investigations conducted by AFSC Wing and Complex Safety Offices for release by designated authority.
- →Prepares Center supplements to regulations, instructions and manuals defining mishap prevention, handling, and storage procedures and Safety program management responsibilities based on interpretation and/or adaptation of higher command instructions and policies formulated by other federal government agencies affecting personnel.
- →Composes for Center-wide use articles on a wide range of work operations areas, such as traffic safety techniques, proper storage of hazardous materials, common laboratory hazards, and building evacuation procedures.
