About the Role

Position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

What You'll Do

  • VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards The Nurse Manager is responsible for the administration and evaluation of nursing care, program implementation, personnel management and overall operations for the Trauma Recovery Program treating Veterans with PTSD and poly substance abuse in a residential mental health setting.
  • The purpose of treatment is to educate patients about the nature and impact of PTSD and to assist ith reintegration into the community.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Responsible for delivery of quality patient care, including documentation and demonstration of clinical competence through role modeling and ongoing role delineation assessment and continuous Quality Improvement Projects.
  • Responsible for the provision of staffing, physical facilities, supplies and equipment for nursing services to patients.
  • Familiarity with the established policies and procedures, administration of the unit in accordance with CARF, TJC and policy.
  • Responsible for monitoring compliance to these policies.
  • Responsible for identifying and promoting staff development and enhancing staff competencies.
  • Collaborates with the Program Directors, Chief of Mental Health, the MOD, and other services for program development, quality care, and resource planning. - Collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team in planning, directing and implementing patient care.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating interdisciplinary team program to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Responsible to ensure monitoring utilization of supplies for cost control and overall efficiency.
  • Responsible for the overall administration, supervision, and counseling of unit nursing staff.
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
  • Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

Requirements

  • Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

  • Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
