About the Role
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) at the La Crosse Community-Based Outreach Clinic (CBOC) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties, responsibility, and accountability for the operation of their designated units. The incumbent of this position will function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor to the team. They enhance care outcomes through collaboration and implement new evidence-based cutting-edge processes to meet the needs of Veterans and their caregivers.
What You'll Do
- →The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) at the La Crosse Community-Based Outreach Clinic (CBOC) is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care.
- →The person in this role assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates implants for use as indicated.
- →They communicate effectively with healthcare members, vendors, and patients to ensure continuity of care within the Veterans Affairs (VA) health care system.
- →The La Crosse CBOC ANM is also responsible for the following duties: Supporting the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties.
- →Assuming responsibility and accountability for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, and development of staff.
- →Providing input into the evaluation of individual staff performance.
- →Engaging in professional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth.
- →Equipping staff with tools for competent care.
- →Promoting accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
- →Cultivating alliances across the care continuum.
- →Contributing to the development of care delivery models and environmental design to ensure evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care.
- →Aligning nurse clinical objectives with organizational strategic outcomes.
- →Providing coverage for other ANMs, as needed.
- →Other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
