About the Role
The Occupational Health Registered Nurse is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to employees with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting. the EOH RN supports worker- centered occupational safety and health procedures while also promoting worker health, monitoring, and tracking the health status and well-being of employees, and assessing workplace safety from hazards and contaminants in the workplace.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include but may not be limited to: Plans a delivers technically competent care to employees in alignment with ANA standards of nursing practice.
- →Responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of tasks ensuring the assigned delegated tasks are completed by team members.
- →Manages nursing care of employees, organizes and completes own assignments in a safe and timely manner, assisting team members as necessary.
- →Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interdisciplinary care.
- →Improves employee driven care by resolving experience issues such as coordination of care, timeliness or process issues, common themes of dissatisfaction, or environment of care concerns for the immediate practice setting.
- →Serves as an advocate for employees to address and resolve ethical issues in the immediate practice setting.
- →Leads the implementation of high reliability principles and I-CARE values to increase consistency of care delivered and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.

- ✓Nursing education must be from a school of professional nursing accredited by one of the following accrediting organizations at the time the program was completed by the applicant: (a) The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), 3343 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326.
- ✓The ACEN accredits all levels of nursing programs, including clinical doctorate, masters/post-master's certificate, baccalaureate, associate and diploma nursing education programs.
