About the Role
Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process, influences outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and executes position responsibilities that demonstrates proficiency and self-directed goal setting for managing complex situations. Demonstrates competence of the following core informatics functions to include content management, application support, health information technology system optimization, and enterprise data management.
What You'll Do
- →The Informaticist Registered Nurse (RN) exercises leadership in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of hardware and software applications integrated with the electronic health record (EHR) and associated programs/applications.
- →The Informaticist collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, including other program and service leaders at the facility and network.
- →They work closely to establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of Veteran Affairs (VA) staff nationwide.
- →The Informaticist is responsible for the documented outcomes at the program or service level.
- →Program or service level outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility, Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN), or Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO), illustrating performance and leadership that benefit the facility.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

- ✓The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), or Master of Science degree in Nursing (MSN) must be fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission On Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
