The incumbent is responsible to the Principal Investigator and/or the Associate Chief of Staff/Research and Development (ACOS/R&D). Please note: this is a temporary position.
What You'll Do
- →General Description of Assigned Duties: Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising research activities.
- →Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates research based on specific components.
- →Assumes responsibility for the coordination of education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- →Follows procedures per established policies and guidelines.
- →Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- →Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of research processes.
- →The nurse will be responsible for screening patients for inclusion in studies, documenting this assessment, providing information relevant to the study, and obtaining informed consent.
- →The nurse will lead the provision of education on the studies they support and lead ongoing regulatory compliance assessments for each study and patient record.
- →They will also lead quality improvement for study recruitment protocols and evaluate the success of recruitment efforts where possible.
- →The nurse should function as a study coordinator and provide oversight of other nurses as appropriate to the setting.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.

- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.
