About the Role
The Cardiac Catheterization Lab (CCL) Registered Nurse (RN) provides assessment, monitoring, scrubbing, nursing interventions, and evaluation in the Cardiac Cath procedure rooms for veterans undergoing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures, and other invasive cardiac procedures in the Cardiac/Electrophysiologic (EP) Lab, serves as liaisons between cardiologists, patients, and families. This position has on-call requirements.
What You'll Do
- →The Minneapolis Cardiology Department operates 4 Cath lab Suites and specializes in interventional, electrophysiology and structural procedures and high-risk patient populations.
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Supports Patient Care needs throughout the Cardiology Department and all aspects of the procedure (Nursing, Circulating, Scrubbing and Monitoring).
- →Triages and applies a collaborative team approach in identifying, analyzing, and resolving patient care problems.
- →Administration & Monitoring of medications (including High Risk medications and drips and procedural sedation medications).
- →Advanced Vascular Access Care and Maintenance Works collaboratively with all levels of health care professional and support staff to facilitate positive patent care outcomes.
- →A 30-minute response time is required for on-call duty.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
