This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Asst Secretary for Community Planning and Development.

  • This position is located in the Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD).
  • CPD seeks to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate-income persons.
  • The primary means toward this end is the development of partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector, including for-profit and non-profit organizations.
  • As a/an Regional Senior CPD Representative, you will: Serve as an expert-level resource on their Regional Management Team, as it represents CPD throughout the designated jurisdiction.
  • This may include written and oral response to inquiries or requests from grantees, other HUD partners, the general public, and/or state/local officials regarding HUD programs and program initiatives.
  • Advise, assist, and train HUD staff as well as local community officials, non-profit or for-profit entities, consultants, or contractors on CPD program requirements and implementation.
  • Review grant applications and planning documents, performance reports, or other documents periodically submitted by grantees, or may train, advise, or support HUD staff in undertaking these duties.
  • Remote monitor or field monitor all programs in accordance with applicable monitoring handbooks, circulars, guidelines, instructional memos, regulations, or policy memoranda, etc.
  • Compliance monitoring may include risk analysis, on-site or remote review and written reports, which include findings and recommendations.
  • Duties may include providing support to and/or oversight of other HUD staff monitoring.
  • Proactively identify trends regarding grantee performance and where concerns are identified, suggest corrective measures.

Requirements

  • Candidates will be selected for a job assigned to one of the official duty stations listed in this announcement.
  • Failure to report to duty at the location for which the candidate is selected may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.
  • Key Requirements: Must be U.S.
  • Citizen or U.S.
  • A probationary or trial period may be required.
  • Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
  • Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form i-9.
  • Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
  • Obtain and use a Government-issued charge card for business-related travel.
