- →This position is located in the Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R).
- →PD&R is responsible for providing advice and information to the Secretary to further the agency's, policy agenda; for maintaining current information to monitor housing needs, housing market conditions, and the operation of existing programs; and for conducting research on priority housing and community development issues.
- →As a Regional Economist, you will: Serve as the principal advisor to office and program directors on economic matters and market analysis of the Department's programs, including economic conditions and the impact of HUD activities on localities within the assigned jurisdiction.
- →Provide market analysis services for various HUD programs, including pre-application advice to clients and market reviews that recommend approval disapproval of FHA-insured multifamily housing proposals, needs assessments of assisted housing proposals, and advice on the allocation of assisted housing funds.
- →Provide interagency support by reviewing Rural Housing Service housing proposals and review DOD proposals for military family housing construction and market impact of installation closures and expansions.
- →Assist the supervisor in resolving policy issues and render advice and assistance in the administration of operating guidelines, coordination of program efforts with other internal activities, and in communicating policies and priorities.
Requirements
