This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans (PLCY), International Affairs (OIA). The primary purpose of this position is to develop and implement international affairs policies, strategies, and engagement activities, with a focus on Mexico. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
What You'll Do
- →As a Regional Affairs Specialist, GS-0301-14, your typical work assignments may include: Identifying and implementing homeland security policies in relation to Mexico, in coordination with other federal officials with responsibility for homeland security matters.
- →Preparing and reviewing draft reports, summaries, analyses, and issuing papers on various aspects of homeland security, intelligence/information sharing, and Mexican affairs.
- →Preparing senior DHS officials for meetings involving Mexican dignitaries or delegations, U.S. cabinet officers, and members of Congress by drafting written and verbal briefings on regional homeland security policy and initiatives with Mexico.
- →Assisting with organizing, and if called upon, participating in bilateral events to support the implementation of homeland security policy with Mexico.
