About the Role

This position is assigned to the Youth Sports & Fitness program at Osan AB in the Republic of South Korea. The Recreation Specialist will serves as the Force Support Squadron's sports coordinator with primary responsibility of planning and administration of the youth sports and fitness program to include organizing seasonal sports, for the dependent youth of Osan AB. This regular part-time position with a work schedule between 20 hours on weekdays.

What You'll Do

  • Assists in the oversight, planning, and administration of the youth sports and fitness program to include organizing seasonal sports, for the dependent youth of Osan AB.
  • Coordinates and resolves customer complaints with management.
  • Schedules the use and ensures pre­game preparation of sports facilities and equipment.
  • Keeps key staff informed of current program status on a daily basis.
  • Assists youth in sports with physical, psychological, and social development by teaching fundamental and safe sports skills.
  • Organizes and conducts meetings with coaches in player evaluations, drafts, practices, game schedules, and issues of all sporting events.
  • Orders and maintains stock control of funds for equipment/supplies, uniforms of all sports.
  • Recruits, trains, and appoints volunteers to act as league administrators, managers, coaches, and other related positions within the sports program.
  • Ensures volunteers receive required training, i.e., CPR, first aid, etc.
  • Ensures proper certification of coaches and maintains documentation.
  • Ensures youth sports participants have required physical examinations.
  • Collects required data and transmits to supervisor the information needed to submit reportable incidents to leadership and higher headquarters.

  • This position does allow for education substitution in order to qualify.
  • FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.
  • You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
  • It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
