What You'll Do
- →INTRODUCTION: This position part of the Semper Fit Division of MCCS and reports directly to the Youth Sports Supervisor of the Athletics Department.
- →This position is a support role, to assist the Youth Sports Supervisor in the overall planning, coordinating, and execution of the Youth Sports Program.
- →MAJOR DUTIES: As a support role, the majority of this persons time will be spent assisting the Youth Sports Supervisor in the planning, organizing, coordinating and directing a comprehensive youth fitness/sports program.
- →The youth sports program includes coverage for seasonal leagues, sports camps/clinics and special events.
- →Assists in organizing the recruiting, training, and supervision of volunteers critical to the execution of the Youth Sports program.
- →Ensures all volunteer coaches have completed the required background checks prior to performing coaching duties.
- →Monitors coaches remain in compliance with the National Youth Sports Coaches (NYSC) policies and guidelines.
- →Conducts clinics or seminars to train athletes, coaches and officials in related sports programs.
- →Utilizes a planning process to ensure all administrative, logistical, marketing, ORM, fiscal, venue, and other critical event planning components are accounted for in each program, sport or event offered.
- →Ensures all playing facilities and surfaces are properly reserved for team practices and games, maintained, safe, and ready for play and are prepared in accordance with the rules and regulations of the sport and league.
- →Adheres to safety regulations and standards.
- →Properly utilizes required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures.
- →Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.
- →Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
