About the Role
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Auto Hobby, Beale AFB, CA This position is a Regular Full time (35-40 hours per week). Physical Effort: Frequent bending, reaching, and working in awkward positions. Occasional heavy 25lbs alone or 50lbs with help.
What You'll Do
- →The primary responsibility of the Automotive Service Writer is to act as a liaison between mechanics and customers.
- →This position enables mechanics to receive clear communication on customer expectations of work, as well as enable the customer to make well-informed decisions about what parts should be purchased, work performed, and amount paid.
- →Maintain clear records, both written and typed, on work authorized by the customer and work completed by the mechanic in alignment with the Write it Right Program.
- →Draft quotes, invoices, email communications, and process payments during each repair order by hand and in software provided by management.
- →Oversee the proper ordering and receipt of parts needed to complete customer expectations.
- →Act as functional liaison between the mechanic and customer during the service process.
- →Handles daily transactions, cash, and safe contents.
- →Reports issues of customer and/or mechanic satisfaction to management.
- →Exacts fair fees on the customer in line with issued quotes and approved work and collects payment for such work. .
