This position is assigned to Fitness, Sports, and Deployed Support Branch (N921); Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR, N92); Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR N9); Commander, Navy Region Southeast (CNRSE), Navy Installations Command (CNIC); located at NAS Whiting Field. Incumbent serves as the lead lifeguard and is responsible for safeguarding the lives of persons at the assigned work area. Incumbent assists with Aquatic training, education, and general support at the installation
What You'll Do
- →Lead Responsibilities 70% - Leads and assists in direction of Recreation Assistant (lifeguard) positions; including monitoring pool activities and ensures swimmers are well supervised to ensure all applicable policies and procedures of Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) regarding the use of Aquatic facilities and waterfront operations are followed.
- →Communicates these polices to other staff and patrons. - Ensures lifeguards perform their duties in compliance with established regulations and instructions that are outlined in applicable manuals and policies and reports infractions to the supervisor. - Ensures that lifeguards rotate as scheduled and during assigned breaks.
- →Program Maintenance 15% - Ensures maintenance work for year round facility upkeep to include, but not limited to water quality assessments, facility equipment inspections including stands, boards, ropes, and safety gear. - Conducts and documents pool chemical testing results.
Requirements
- ✓All qualified applicants Must possess and maintain the following certifications: (Proof of certification MUST be submitted at time of applying) Lifeguard Training Certification in accordance with CNICINST 1710.3 CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Providers First Aid to include Automated External Defibrillator Certification; and · Blood Borne Pathogens.
