About the Role
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 92 Force Support Squadron / Outdoor Recreation Center / Aquatics Center. This is a training position for a certified Lifeguard. The primary purpose of this position is to function as a lifeguard responsible for safeguarding the lives of persons using the respective swimming pool to which assigned. This is a Flexible position; guaranteed 0-40 hours per week; depending on the needs of the facility.
What You'll Do
- →Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons.
- →Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area.
- →Works under close supervision wherein the work is closely monitored and detailed guidance provided.
- →When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards.
- →Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made.
- →May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include: cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas, sunbathing areas, etc.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
