About the Role
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Aquatics Center, Kirtland AFB, NM. This position will be filled as Flexible employment category; guarantees 00 hrs/week (may work up to 40 hrs/wk). This position is for a Summer Hire position NTE 120 Days after start date. Position requires current Lifeguard Certification (Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid) or obtain within 30 days of employment.
What You'll Do
- →DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ontinuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons.
- →Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area.
- →Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed.
- →Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, ocean conditions of rough water or hazards, and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail.
- →When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards.
- →Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made.
- →May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include: cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas, sunbathing areas, etc.
