About the Role
The incumbent serves as a Records and Information Management (RIM) Specialist within WHS/ESD/R&DD. The division is responsible for developing and implementing policies that govern Records Management, FOIA, and Prepublication and Security Review services for the Immediate Offices of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of War, OSW Components, Defense Agencies, and DoW Field Activities.
What You'll Do
- →Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Develops long-range objectives, policies, and feasibility studies to direct and manage the organization's Records and Information Management (RIM) program across the entire records lifecycle (creation, maintenance, safeguarding, and final disposition).
- →Supports comprehensive reviews, risk assessments, and compliance evaluations of manual and automated recordkeeping systems to ensure adherence to Federal statutes and departmental policies.
- →Leads initiatives to modernize records management functions, collaborating directly with IT, CDAO, and CIO offices to manage the transition from paper to electronic records and implement compliant electronic recordkeeping applications.
- →Utilizes records management systems to collect data, analyze metrics, and produce complex analytical reports, presenting authoritative recommendations to leadership to improve operational efficiency.
- →Serve as a RIM subject matter authority, when tasked represent the OSW RIM Program on records issues, providing expert guidance to records liaisons, and developing and conducting records management training across the organization.
Requirements
- ✓Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS-12 or GS-13 levels.
- ✓ARE YOU QUALIFYING BASED ON EDUCATION or A COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE AT THE GS-11 LEVEL?
