About the Role
The employee will be a member of Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) within the Prosthetic Service Line at the VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor, MI.
What You'll Do
- →***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Prepares complex purchase orders for a wide variety of prosthetic orders.
- →Receives and analyzes a large number of complex consults for a wide variety of supplies, equipment, delivery and repair services.
- →Authorizes and prepares complex purchase orders for a wide variety of prosthetic and orthotic devices, artificial limbs, medical supplies and home equipment and repairs.
- →Completes transaction on the patient's medical record to ensure documentation of exactly what was purchased and issued.
- →Conducts face-to-face and telephone conversations with patients, family members and private medical staff, contractors, vendors and co-workers.
- →Deals with a large community base, vendors, hospital staff and the public.
- →Resolves conflicts in administering purchase orders, such as protests, claims, duplicate billing & terminations for convenience or default.
- →Maintains accurate records of transactions and completes all adjustments to computerized system before final payment to vendor is certified.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
