About the Position: Provide emergency response dispatching of police, fire and medical services to the public by answering emergency 911 calls and responding with appropriate personnel and equipment. Maintain an accurate status of all emergency response equipment and personnel to assure prompt and accurate response.
What You'll Do
- →This is a developmental position; duties listed below will be performed in a developmental capacity at the GS-05 grade level.
- →At the full performance, GS-07, the incumbent will: Responsible evaluation of 911 emergency calls; for determining nature of call; prioritizing all incoming calls; identification of and level of response necessary and provides any additional information to the responding units.
- →Maintain contact with emergency callers during situations until appropriate emergency field units arrive on scene.
- →Provide emergency medical dispatching (EMD) assistance to callers with medical emergencies using the local authority emergency medical dispatch system.
- →Monitors status and availability of police, fire and medical units to assure an appropriate response is made.
